Coming soon to Canadian Netflix [August 2017]

What is coming soon to Canadian Netflix? Here you will find a list presenting the movies and TV series that will come to Netflix in Canada in August 2017.

Every month we get to watch great movies and TV series on Netflix in Canada. In August 2017 it turns true again. In the IP Address Guide, we look especially forward to the following content.

Coming soon to Canadian Netflix ˙[August 2017]

Naked – August 11th

Naked is a Netflix original movie. We know nothing about it, and we doubt that it will be good, but we still feel tempted to watch it. Naked tells us the story of a man waking up naked in an elevator on the day of his wedding. He does anything in his power to get to the wedding, but the circumstances are not on his side. And things get even worse, as he wakes up in the elevator over and over again (every single day). Is this The Groundhog Day over again? Is this Edge of Tomorrow again? The answer is yes, but since we loved both those movies, there might be hope for this film as well. You can watch Naked on Netflix in Canada on August 11th. Since this is a Netflix Original movie, you can also watch it in all other Netflix regions from this date on.

The Butler – August 16th

This movie tells us the story of a butler who served under eight different presidents in The White House. But, working as a butler in the White House is not a walk on roses, especially not when your skin color is black, and your family fights for the rights of the black people. The movie is packed with famous actors, and here are some of the celebrities in the film: Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, John Cusack, Jane Fonda, Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Lenny Kravitz, James Marsden, David Oyelowo, Liev Schreiber, Robin Williams and Mariah Carey. At IMDB this movie has a 7,2/10 score, while it has an audience score of 78% at Rotten Tomatoes.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective – August 23rd

This movie doesn’t deserve a place at this list, but we simply love Ace Ventura, and for that reason, we added the movie to the list. Jim Carrey is simply amazing in his role as the pet detective Ace Ventura, and for that reason, this is a must-see movie if you are a Jim Carrey fan. The successor wasn’t at all as good as the original, but that is probably the same as with Mister Bean. The first time you watched Mr. Bean, you laughed so you fell off the chair. The second time you laughed a lot, but the third time you had seen it before. Probably the same applies to the Ace Ventura movies as well.

Ex Machina – August 1st

In the middle of nowhere a tech expert creates his own robot. He works on the robot, upgrades it, and tries to make it as human as possible. A young guy is invited by the tech expert to speak with the robot and discover the intelligence of the robot. Alicia Wikander plays the role as the robot, and she does a fantastic job in her role. Is it fair to keep the robot locked up in a room? Several questions lead him to doubt his “boss” and maybe believe in the robot. Is that dangerous?

Ex Machina is an enjoyable movie that comes with lots of interesting questions. And do not stop watching, because it has a fascinating end.

The Founder – August 2nd

Do you get water in your mouth when you think of a BigMac or a McChicken? Do your children tell you to stop the car whenever they see a magic McDonalds sign along the road? How did the story of McDonald’s start? In The Founder, you get to meet a guy named Ray Kroc. He was a salesman, who by coincidence met up with two brothers who created the first McDonalds restaurant. They did not see the potential in their business, but Ray Kroc did. He did everything he could to make McDonald’s a franchise, and in this movie, you can see the fights he had to fight for this to happen. What we today simply enjoy, once started with big battles and legal problems. Get to know the story of Ray Kroc and the founding of McDonald’s as you watch The Founder on Canadian Netflix.

Allied – August 11th

On a mission as a secret agent Brad Pitt, playing the role as Max Vatan meets the beautiful agent Marianne Beausejour, played by Marion Cotillard. They fall in love and get married, and they both finish their careers as secret agents. Their retired life in England doesn’t end up as smooth as they hoped for because their past keeps hunting them down. And can two people who fell in love as secret agents actually trust one another? Or are they still serving as undercover agents? Allied is a movie full of tension, brilliant questions, and you do not know where the film is taking you before it is over. Allied did not receive the best critics online, but it still has lots of fans. Some even say that this is the movie that led to the divorce between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (because of Marion Cotillard).

The Blacklist season 4 – August 22nd

The NBC series The Blacklist has millions of fans worldwide. We have already written about how you can watch The Blacklist season 4 online, but now the season will arrive to Canadian Netflix as well. Due to the popularity of The Blacklsit, NBC decided to produce a spin-off, The Blacklist: Redemption. The spin-off did not turn into a success, and thus NBC decided not to produce more of this, but The Blacklist is not in danger. If you haven’t seen the fourth season of The Blacklist yet, go ahead and do so from August 22nd on Canadian Netflix.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Tory – July 18th

This is a story of the past, but if you did not know about it, then you should know that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story can be streamed on Canadian Netflix as well. The movie was a fantastic one, and Star Wars fans worldwide did not keep their praise back after its premiere. If you haven’t seen this yet, you should go ahead and watch it right away.  The story takes place in the Star Wars universe, and once you have seen this movie, make sure to continue with Star Wars: A New Hope, the first Star Wars movie ever produced. Rogue One is a bonus story, which takes place before the actual story in Star Wars: A New Hope, and thus it feels very natural to continue with A New Hope after watching Rogue One on Netflix.

These are just some of the movies and TV series coming soon to Canadian Netflix. There will be lots of other content coming in August as well, and you can find the full list right here.
