The Champions League semi-final between AS Roma and Liverpool is interesting, but it cannot be compared to the semi-final between Real Madrid and Bayern München in Madrid on May 1st.
In the first match, Real Madrid managed to win 2-1 against Bayern München on the Allianz Arena in München, but that doesn’t mean that it will be easy to win the second leg. Bayern München is, without a doubt, one of the best teams in the world, and on a top day, they can beat Real Madrid 3-0 without trouble. But, on a good day, Real Madrid can beat Bayern München 3-0. So, which team will have a great day at work tomorrow?
Real Madrid has a big advantage, as Bayern München has to score at least two goals to have a chance to qualify for the Champions League final. They will have to attack, and that will create openings for Ronaldo and the rest of his team-mates in Real Madrid. Before the first leg, Ronaldo had a statistic saying that he has scored 9 goals in 6 matches against Bayern München. He didn’t score in the first leg, meaning that he has now scored 9 goals against Bayern München in 7 matches, still a great score, and it makes it very likely that he might score a goal tomorrow as well.
Bayern München had quite a lot of chances in their first match, but they did not manage to convert chances to goals. Their performance might be enough to win the German Bundesliga, but it is not enough against a team like Real Madrid. If they manage to convert chances to goals on the Santiago Bernabéu Stadion on May 1st, then they might have a good chance.
Who do we cheer for, Bayern München or Real Madrid?
We are fans of diversity in all sports. During the Winter Olympics, we cheered for the “smaller nations”, as it gets boring when nations like USA, Germany, and Norway win all the medals. Based on that, you might understand that we will cheer for Bayern München tomorrow. It would be a fantastic job of Real Madrid to qualify for the final, and maybe win the Champions League for the third year in a row, but now we rather hope for Bayern München to win, and make sure that Real Madrid will not win the Champions League again.
