Make sure to keep your device clean

The first thing you need to make sure of, is that your device is clean. That means, you need to have an antivirus program installed and it can also be smart to run a malware detector on your device. There are free options available that will get the job done for you, for example, AVG Free, and Malwarescanner.

Now, if you have used such programs, but no problems have been discovered and you still see all the notifications, then the problem is most likely in the browser itself. This is what you need to do.

Clean up in your browser

You can try to uninstall your browser, but since it is an Android device, it might be a part of the original package, which makes it impossible to delete. However, the most likely solution is to open your Chrome browser and do the following:

  • Click the three dots in the upper right corner.
  • Select Settings
  • Click Notifications
  • Here you can setup the notifications for Chrome. You can disable ALL notifications (the best solution if you want to check if it will solve the problem). Or, you can scroll down and see a list of all websites that want to show notifications, and manually select which website should be allowed to send you notifications and which website that should not be allowed to send you notifications.

That should get the job done!

I hope these instructions will help you keep your Android device clean! It will for sure help you get rid of annoying notifications showing up in your Chrome browser. The notifications might look and feel like a virus, a malware, or an adware in the start, but in reality, they are often just websites that you have given permissions to show notifications through your browser.
