The Handmaid’s Tale Season 2 has ended!

The last episode of the second season of The Handmaid’s Tale was published on Hulu yesterday. I have watched it, and here are my thoughts about the entire season.

When I watched the first season of The Handmaid’s Tale it was shocking. I didn’t think I would like it at all, but then I ended up becoming a giant fan by the time it ended. Then I had to wait for a long time before the second season arrived. But, as April 2018 came to an end, the second season of The Handmaid’s Tale came to begin. Did it live up to the success of the first season?

A short review of The Handmaid’s Tale season 2

The start of the second season was incredibly brutal, and it was at times almost hard to watch. But, as the season has progressed, it has become easier to watch. That can be considered both positive and negative, all depending on what you expect from the show.

Every week I look forward to the Wednesday evening, as that is when I watch the brand new episodes. I still do, but I must say, there have been some episodes in the second season that I didn’t enjoy as much as the others.

My favorite episode was probably the episode in which Commander Waterford and his wife went to Canada. I am not sure why, but I found it so interesting to look at the world through their eyes, and also to see how the world looked at them from the outside. It was the role of Serena Joy Waterford in this part that was enticing, how she longed for the outside world, but at the same time fighting for the values she adores back home in Gilead.

The most boring episode was the one in which Offred gave birth to her child in the cabin in the middle of nowhere. It was an incredibly slow episode, not much happened, and even though the birth of a child is beautiful, this was mostly boring.

When will The Handmaid’s Tale season 3 arrive?

I haven’t found an exact date yet, but the rumors say that it will be released in April 2019. That is a long time to wait, but let us hope it will be worth it.

I will not spoil anything, but let me just say that the second season ended with Offred making me think of Darth Vader, or at least Kylo Ren, the way she looked. What does the future hold for The Handmaid’s Tale fans?
