Mortdecai is a crazy humor and action film that has just been released on UK Netflix today! It features Ewan McGregor, Gwyneth Paltrow and Johnny Depp and if you have seen the film Spy this is a film that goes in the same category as that film.
If you have seen Spy you might know that Ewan McGregor played in that film as well. Then he was an agent, but in this film he is an art dealer who is very strange, who can not really control himself, but he has received a task to find a stolen painting which has an enormous value. We have not yet seen the film, but we were waiting for the moment in which it would be made available in Netflix, and since it has now been made available it is probably just a few days and we will take a look at it in the office and hopefully have fun while doing so!
The film has not at all received good critics so currently it has a 12% score on Rotten Tomatoes, a 5,5/10 score on IMDB and a 27% score on Metacritic. That does not seem to promising. If you compare it with Spy again then that film has a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7,1/10 score on IMDB, so if you have to choose one of the films, you should probably go for Spy instead of Mortdecai. But, if you are a fan of such crazy action comedies then you can consider watching this, and maybe you will like it as well.
It can be seen on Netflix in the UK, and if you want to watch it there you only need a Netflix subscription somewhere and a UK IP address. Once you have an IP address in England you will get the chance to see all films available on UK Netflix, and if you then later get yourself an American IP address you will have the chance to watch everything available on American Netflix.
