I loved The Blacklist season 6, and now I am eagerly waiting for season 7 to be released. But, when will NBC release the seventh season of this popular show starring the criminal mastermind Raymond Reddington (Jason Spader)?
Recently, I have had some fun with the fact that YouTube blocked my video on how to watch The Blacklist season 6 on Netflix. To fix the problem, I created a new one, and you can find that here. If you haven’t watched The Blacklist season 6 yet, you better get started as it was a fantastic season. But, if you are here looking for information about the Blacklist season 7, I guess you have already seen season 6 and now you are curious to see how life will continue for Raymond Reddington. Maybe you are worried after watching the final scenes of season 6? I will not give away any more info about the last season, but I can tell you, I am curious to see how this will continue in season 7!
When will The Blacklist season 7 premiere?
Forget about the rest of the article. The information has now been released, and The Blacklist season 7 will premiere on October 4th, Friday, at NBC in the United States.

NBC has not given us any official date yet. Based on the first five seasons, one would expect the premiere to be at the end of September or the start of October, but season 6 only premiered in January 2019. So, what will happen with season 7?
Based on the fact that season 6 started in January 2019, I would say that the expected arrival is January 2020. But, many people claim that the early decision to renew The Blacklist for a seventh season means that they could start production early, meaning that it might arrive already in September/October. It is a fact, that already after a few episodes of season 6, NBC decided to continue the story. Normally, they have waited for a longer time to renew seasons, but I guess the sixth season had such an amazing success already from the start, that they just knew that it has to continue for one more season.
As a result, we do not know anything yet, but the two available options are:
- End of September/start of October 2019
- January 2020

On which days will the new episodes come?
The Blacklist has been shown on mostly all weekdays at NBC, and they never seem to let it get stuck at a certain day. But, the most recent season aired on NBC Friday evenings. If they will let it continue the way it did in season 6, it will remain that way. It is also interesting that many people consider Friday’s to be a burial evening on NBC. It is hard to perform well on these evenings, as most people travel, party, and do not sit stuck to their TV’s in the living room. But, The Blacklist performed very well, and maybe so good that NBC will decide to let them keep on ruling the Friday evenings on TV in the United States?
The number of viewers has dropped quite a lot compared to season one (it started with almost 15 million viewers), while the last season ran with an average of 7 million viewers. However, Friday evenings are tough, so this might still be considered a success for NBC. Based on the early renewal for a seventh season, this is also a sign of the fact that NBC seems to be satisfied with the numbers produced by The Blacklist season 6. Can I stream The Blacklist season 7 on Netflix?
Of course! I cannot say anything for sure yet about how and when, but I will for sure produce and write some articles and a YouTube video on the subject as soon as I know more. Normally, you will be able to stream the brand new episodes on Netflix a few days after their NBC release in the United States.
