Watching the World Cup with a cryptocurrency!

The FIFA World Cup is taking all our attention in these days. There are TV channels streaming the tournament online in all nations, but lots of people use VPN services to watch live streams in other nations. But, did you know that a cryptocurrency can be used to watch the World Cup?

If you do a quick Google search for one of the following topics, you will find hundreds and thousands of hits:

  • How to watch the FIFA World Cup online?
  • How can I watch the World Cup on my iPhone?
  • Is it possible to watch BBC and ITV from abroad?
  • What is the best VPN for World Cup streaming?

These are just some search strings used by people looking for a way to watch the World Cup online. And yes, we have our very own article here in the IP Address Guide as well dealing with the subject, and presenting a VPN solution that will help you watch the World Cup online on BBC/ITV in England, and other TV channels in Europe, no matter where you might be in the world.

But, did you know that there is a cryptocurrency with a platform that will help you do exactly the same? It is still in a beta version, but it is already working. By the time the next big sports event will take place, it will be 100% ready and launched, and you can change your Netflix region, watch TV channels in other nations online easily, and at the same time encrypt your online activity.

Watching the World Cup with IPSX

IPSX is the name of the cryptocurrency token, and it belongs to a decentralized IP exchange. It is still in beta, so this is not a good solution if you want to stream long matches (that is why we do not recommend it yet in the article about streaming the World Cup online). But, just to give it a try, we used the IPSX Beta to access BBC in England, and thus watch Iran – Portugal online. And guess what, it worked very well, and it was very easy to set up.

Since it is in beta, it is only available for testing purposes. As a result, you cannot stream long movies on Netflix or watch a full World Cup match on BBC, as it simply requires too much data. But, it can be tested, and that is what I did. The screenshots shown above is from my streaming experience of BBC in the UK using an IPSX proxy.

In the future, you can pay to use the IPSX platform using the IPSX tokens, and it will unlock a world of possibilities for you as well! Who said cryptocurrencies are only strange and don’t have a real purpose?

When will IPSX move from beta to full product?

If you want to know more about IPSX, read my article about the platform and the product right here. You are not the only one waiting for the full product to be launched. According to official sources it should be published in the third quarter of 2018, meaning that we should have it before the end of September. I believe we have a lot to look forward to!

I will publish some more articles on IPSX in the near future, so add a bookmark to the page, follow us on Facebook, or add us on Twitter to get a notice when something new is published.
