How to watch FIFA World Cup 2014 online?

Are you on of the many fans who would like to watch the FIFA World Cup 2014 online? That can be done. Of course not much can be said exactly about how and where yet, but based on the experiences from the Winter Olympics in 2014 we can still give out quite a lot of information about how you can watch the FIFA World Cup 2014 online.

World Cup 2014 onlineAs mentioned in the start we can know quite a lot about this based on the experience from the Winter Olympics in 2014. Quite a lot of the same television broadcasting companies sit with the rights to broadcast from the FIFA World Cup, meaning that they will use the same systems to show whatever is going on online as well. If we use Switzerland as an example it will probably look like this. In Switzerland SRG SSR has the rights to broadcast to their channels from the World Cup 2014. They have several channels in their systems, but during the Winter Olympics they made one online portal for this on which you could see the live streams from all channels in one and the same place. The only thing you needed for this to work was a Swiss IP address.

Another example is Ceska Televizie in the Czech Republic. They also had the rights to broadcast from the Winter Olympcis and then they had a wonderful special site on which you could watch all the interesting streams from the Winter Olympics at one and the same place at once. They will for sure make it just as easy to watch during the World Cup in Brazil in 2014. All you need here is  a Czech IP Address.

  1. Thanks for providing so much information about the broadcasting channels of 2014 FIFA World Cup. I’m from United States, so ABC, ESPN and Univision will be streaming live the matches of 2014 FIFA World Cup. I’m really exited and can’t wait for 12 June 🙂

    • Hello! The truth is that unless you have a cable account, or know someone with a cable username and password, you will need to find another solution to watch the World Cup, and if that is so, then using a VPN to get an IP in another country, and thus watching the world cup on their TV channels could be a very good option.

  2. Thank you for the guide. My friend is from Slovakia and he says he can watch all the american cable channels using a VPN i don’t know how he does it but it works. Btw who do you think will win the world cup ? I’m betting on Brazil.

  3. I’m from Canada and really hoping to watch 2014 FIFA WC 2014 in English. Since I never had TV cable, I was looking for any legal online subscription w/o any contract. Well, no luck yet. So, it seems like I will have to use VPN. How much VPS service slow down online streaming? Will a VPS service provider have options of switiching US and UK in case one fails to stream live.

I will be looking forward to more info on this. Thanks.

    • Hello! A VPN can slow down your connection, but the best VPN providers normally have good speeds, so that your speed will not suffer to much and you will be able to watch streaming easily online. Those VPN providers also have servers in several nations, meaning that you can switch between lots of different streams and TV channels with the same subscription! A brilliant investment!

  4. I would like to watch all the games, but I just have Antenna and get the local stations. Here on my home computer how can I get all the world cup games. I don’t know how to do this IP Adresses. I hope the Germans will win !

yes, you can watch the live stream of FIFA WC in India as well, using the methods described in this article. The key is as mentioned to use a VPN which will open up the world of online live streams to you. Just about the update the article now, so in about an hour you will find out how you can use a VPN subscription to watch the World Cup online also in India.

    • Hello! I am sorry, but not really sure about that. Some of the channels that will broadcast will probably give you the chance to watch the matches as a recording (still streamed) on their websites after the original match is finished, but if you want to download them, sorry – do not know any good option!

  5. Here’s how I pulled it off on the iPad.
The whole process took about 15 minutes.

    1) sign out of the app store on your ipad
    2) open the app store and download “CBC World Cup 2014”
    3) you will be prompted to sign-in or create an apple id
    4) sign up for a new apple id, using a Canadian address (try a McDonalds in Ottawa)
    5) once the app is downloaded, sign back into your regular account
    6) download HideMyASS HMA app and sign up for basic vpn ($10 for the month)
    7) follow their in-app instructions for setup, and connect to their Canadian vpn server
    8) open the CBC app, and you’re streaming HD games.

That’s every game of the 2014 world cup in one app, in HD, on your iPad for $10!

    • Hello! Download the VPN client provided by the VPN provider. Once you have that installed connect to one of the servers in the UK, and you are ready to go and ready to watch BBC and ITV in the UK! It is simply, but please write a comment if you are stuck somewhere in the process. The World Cup is getting close to its end, so important not to miss out on any single moment, goal or important football moment!

    • Hello! The English Premier League is not so easy to simply watch with a VPN subscription, because it is only pay TV channels that broadcast these matches worldwide. However, if you do have a VPN subscription you can combine it with a subscription to a pay-TV channel in different nations, and thus you can easily watch Premier League matches online from wherever you are in the world. Will have an article up and running on this subject in the near future hopefully!

      • Please do. Will be checking often. Im in the Middle East and BeinSports is so expensive. There are many free streaming sites with lot of ads but none are not HD or clear. Please get some inexpensive sites with a good reception.
