How and where can I watch 24 on Netflix?

24 is one of the best TV series ever made. It is a TV series created by FOX in the United States, and we follow the agents at CTU (the Counter Terrorist Unit) in Los Angeles. Would you like to watch this fantastic action series on Netflix? It was impossible for a long time, but now you can watch 24 on Netflix. Keep on reading to find out how it can be done!

Kiefer Sutherland plays the main role in the first eight seasons of 24. He plays the role of Jack Bauer, one of the most amazing agents the world has ever seen. But, the concept of 24 is what makes it so special. A season of 24 takes place in “real-time”, meaning that the countdown starts with the first episode, and we follow the story for exactly 24 hours. It is incredible to see how much they are capable of making happen in that time, but that is part of the charm of the story.

The first season is explosive! If you haven’t seen 24 ever before, get ready for one of the craziest action events you have ever seen. It feels like an action movie with 24 episodes, and you will get addicted once you start. Most of the other seasons give you the same feeling, but still, there is something absolutely amazing about the first season of 24.

What is 24 all about?

Would you like to know what 24 is about? Read the following text. It is all made of from my own imagination, but still, it reflects the story of a quite normal day in the TV series 24.

Jack Bauer has just entered the office with a cup of coffee in his hands. He tells his team to gather around the table for a morning briefing before they are all sent out to work. Chloe, the data analyst, together with all the other agents are ready to have a chat.

Today we will need to pay special attention to the arrival of the US President. There are no special threats related to his visit, but it is important to stay alert. Chloe, can you pay attention to all cameras and make sure that the roads are cleared of all dangers? Every agent has received their task and is about to walk away when the phone rings! Jack Bauer answers the phone and his facial expression changes immediately. After speaking for 3 minutes with the person on the other end, he tells everyone to come closer.

“There has been a threat against the US Presiden.” According to the threat, a person is out there and he is going to kill the president within the next two hours. The source is an Afghani website on the dark web, and we believe this to be an actual threat. We need to dig deeper.

– Chloe, can you try to see who made the actual post about the attack?
– Tony and Michelle, dress up and get out there. I want you to be near the President at all times!
Jack is handing out the tasks, and he walks up to his office on the first floor. The atmosphere of the entire office has changed, and the timer is ticking. Will they be able to stop the planned attack on the US President?

115 minutes later, the team is still looking. As they got to know about the threat, they secured the President into a safe office, and they believe the threat to be over. But, was it really that easy? As the time is ticking and there is one minute left, something has happened to the President. His skin is starting to itch, and he is falling from his chair. What is going on? There has been an attempt to kill the life of the President!

It only takes a few minutes before the ambulance is there, and there seems to be hope that the President will stay alive. But, what happened? The agents followed protocol, but still, someone managed to poison the President. There has got to be someone doing an inside job. When they first heard about the threat, they immediately called off the president from his planned program. He didn’t like the idea, as he was out there waving to his fans and greeting some of them, but still, he decided to listen to his agents. But, now – the President is in a coma and they are still not sure whether he will get well again, or not!

While this takes place, a bomb blows up downtown. But, it isn’t just any kind of bomb! All police officers run to the place, and so do the agents. However, the focus has changed because of the attack on the President and the bombing, so it takes the agents and the government some minutes before they notice that someone stole a big container of deadly gas from a hidden facility only a few minutes after the bomb attack! This cannot be a coincidence. Is someone about to change America once and for all? A terrorist has just made an attempt on killing the president, a bomb has blown up in the center of the city, and now a container of deadly gas is in the hand of the same terrorists (most likely)!

The clock is ticking, and Jack Bauer and his team is in a hurry to solve the case!

This is just an imaginary day, but if you have read it, you still get a feeling about what 24 might be like. I hope you will enjoy the show. If you have any questions about streaming 24 on Netflix, or if you want to share your thoughts about the series, please write a comment!

Yes. I contacted Astrill’s customer service about this issue. They told me that this problem is very well known and they are working to fix it. Let’s hope it’s not going to take too long.

  2. Chris says:

Ahh I didn’t know that Thomas. It still wasn’t working last night, I was going to ask Express VPN for an update, will try to ask them tonight.

Netflix has just upgraded their attack on VPN services, so 24 is still on Netflix, but it might be that the VPN isn’t working at the moment, but I know they are working 24h to solve this and make the different Netflix countries available again!

  3. Chris says:

Haha thanks Thomas! Actually I contacted Express VPN and they said there was a known problem that they hoped to fix ‘this week’, I’ll try again soon. Maybe it wasn’t working properly so Netflix was reverting to my home country catalogue…

    • Thomas Stein says:

If you use a VPN and it is blocked by Netflix, you will normally see all the content of either your home country, or a Netflix version showing only the Netflix original content which they are allowed to broadcast all around the world. But, I just watched 24 on Netflix in Germany in ExpressVPN, so give it a try once again 🙂

Thanks Thomas, yes that’s strange as I exited Netflix before connecting to Germany VPN to log back in and check it, but will try again. We downloaded in the meantime, but it’s annoying to have to walk to the laptop to select the next episode each time (1st world problems LOL). Thanks for the reply!

    • Thomas Stein says:

Haha 🙂 Well, if you are tired of downloading or walking to the computer to change episodes manually, I would give it a try once again, because 24 is on German Netflix so you should be able to watch it, making the streaming experience even more relaxed! But, since you anyway have to go to the toilet sometimes and also bring some nachos, chips and popcorn, I guess that break every 42nd minute sometimes will come in handy! 🙂

24 seems to have gone completely from Netflix now? We were watching via Express VPN set to Netherlands, but gone since yesterday, so I tried Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium just now with Express VPN, after logging out/in again with Netflix (our usual method), but it’s not listed on any of them? Can you confirm the same problem for you?

    • Thomas Stein says:

I just did a quick check, and I was able to stream it on Netflix in Germany! So I think it should still be there.. WOuld you try once again? Maybe it was some sort of a temporary error!
