ESPN+ is a fantastic streaming service for those in love with sports in the United States. Here you can watch lots of sports live online, and you can also watch other interesting programs, movies, and full matches in a replay. But is it possible to watch ESPN+ outside the United States? How can I pay for ESPN+ if I do not have a valid American payment card? In this article, I will give you all the instructions you need to watch ESPN+ and pay for your ESPN+ subscription no matter where you are in the world.
There is an increasing interest in ESPN+, especially in Europe, considering that you can watch La Liga and the German Bundesliga online. You can also watch numerous other sports on the platform, and considering that the monthly fee for the service is $7, this is an excellent opportunity for those in love with soccer and other sports.
But how can you watch ESPN+ outside the United States? And how can you buy an ESPN+ subscription? Here I have created an illustrated guide that will show you every step in the process, and if you follow the instructions, you should be able to watch ESPN+ online in not long.
If you follow the instructions, you can also use the same method to watch the Premier League online on PeacockTV and to watch the Champions League, Europe League, Europe Conference League, and Serie A online on Paramount+.
Are you ready? Follow these instructions!
How to watch ESPN+ abroad?
You can find the ESPN+ website at https://plus.espn.com/.
As I just tried to visit the website in central Europe, I only saw the following screen giving me an error message.
I am seeing this error message because I am outside the United States. Since ESPN+ is only available to people in the USA, they will show you this or another similar error message if you try to use the service outside the USA. Sometimes they do not show you any error message at all, but instead, they only show you a big black screen and you will not even be able to load the website.
But what can you do about this? You first need an American IP address that ESPN+ doesn’t block.
Get an American IP address that will help you watch ESPN+ abroad
There are many VPN providers on the Internet, but not many of them will help you watch ESPN+. Based on my tests, the best VPNs for this purpose are NordVPN and ExpressVPN. I have also watched ESPN+ with SurfsharkVPN, but it doesn’t work as well as NordVPN and ExpressVPN.
Click the links above to visit the websites of the three mentioned VPN providers. You will get an extra discount if you use the links, so I hope you will take advantage of that opportunity.
No matter which VPN providers you choose, they all have full refund policies valid for 30-days, meaning you do not have to worry. Give it a try, and if you do not like it, you can easily ask for a full refund. They all have Windows, Macintosh, iOS, and Android applications, and you can use one subscription on several devices simultaneously with all three providers.
Above you can see a screenshot taken at the ExpressVPN website. It has a special discount giving you three extra months for free if you purchase a 12-month plan using the link earlier in the article. You can also use the NordVPN link and/or the SurfsharkVPN link earlier in the article.
When you have purchased a subscription, download the VPN client to your computer and you are ready to take the next step.
Connect to a VPN server in the United States
Now you can start your VPN application and connect to a server in the United States. It only takes a few seconds to connect to the VPN server and it will give you an American IP address immediately.
Here you can see screenshots from the NordVPN and the ExpressVPN applications. You can easily find the servers in the United States using both applications.
Visit the ESPN+ website once again
Now that you have an American IP address, you are once again ready to visit the ESPN+ website. You will most likely have to restart your browser, so just close your browser and then go to https://plus.espn.com/ once again.
ESPN+ is closely related to Disney+ and Hulu, so you can now decide whether you want to purchase the bundle with all three services included, or if you want to purchase a subscription to ESPN+ only. No matter what you decide, you can now go ahead and create your brand new ESPN+ account. If you already have a subscription, you are now ready to watch ESPN+ all across the world. But, if you need to purchase an ESPN+ subscription in addition, follow these steps.
Create your ESPN+ account
Now it is time to create your ESPN+ account. The first registration page will look something like this.
You can just fill in all your information in the fields above and click the signup button. After filling in this information, you will be taken to the next screen in which you have to choose whether you want to buy a monthly or an annual subscription and also add your payment information.
There are a couple of things you need to know about this process. To pay for ESPN+, you need to have a PayPal account registered in the USA or a bank card issued in the USA. If you live abroad, you will most likely not have any of those things. What can you do about that? Here I will give you an easy solution!
How to pay for your ESPN+ account?
The easiest way to pay for your ESPN+ account is using the services of USUnlocked. This is a service that will give you a virtual payment card issued in the USA. This can be used to pay for all sorts of American services, including PeacockTV, and Paramount+. I also recommend registering at Shipito to get a free address in the USA, but that isn’t necessarily needed.
Visit the USUnlocked website and create an account. Now it is time to add some money to your account. There are fast methods for depositing money to your account and there are slower methods. When the money arrives in your account, you will get your payment information and card number, which can be used to pay for your ESPN+ account.
Here you can see a picture from my account at ESPN+. As you can see from the transactions on the right, I have used this card to pay for my ESPN Plus subscription (and I have also used it to pay for Paramount+ (and PeacockTV). It is very easy to use and there are several ways in which you can add money to your account. You will most likely have to wait for a few days for the money to arrive at your account, all depending on where you live and what payment methods are available at your location.
You are now ready to return to the ESPN+ website and to pay for your ESPN+ subscription using the USUnlocked virtual card.
Watch and enjoy ESPN+ all across the world
You now have a VPN subscription, a virtual payment card issued in the USA, and you are ready to watch ESPN+ in Europe, in Asia, in Africa, or wherever you are in the world. I am using this method myself to watch La Liga and German Bundesliga online, but it can also be used to watch MLB and other fantastic content.
Above you can see a picture I made while watching Colorado Rockies vs. Houston Astros on ESPN+.
Here you can see a happy Joshua Kimmich after a great performance playing for Bayern München. You can see all the matches from the German Bundesliga on ESPN+, making it the best streaming platform on the Internet for those in love with German football and with fantastic players such as Christopher Nkunku, Manuel Neuer, Jude Bellingham, Marco Reus, Andre Silva Leroy Sane, and several others.
Are you ready to watch ESPN+ online? I have tried to give you all the information you need for this to become a reality. It might take a little bit of time and cost you some money, but if you are a sports fan, this is still very cheap and a way better service than you will find elsewhere on the Internet.
