The Fastest VPN for a Norwegian IP address

Would you like a subscription to the VPN provider with the best download speeds in Norway? Do you want to look like a native Norwegian to the websites you visit, maybe to watch NRK, TV2 Sumo, Viaplay, HBO Nordic, or DPlay outside Norway? Which is the best and fastest VPN provider providing you with IP adresses in Norway?

We always enjoy writing about VPN providers, but it is very easy to always recommend the same VPN providers, just out of habit. But, one of the best ways to avoid doing such a thing is by basing your content on actual tests and then by presenting the results of the test. In that way, you make sure that there is a diversity to your articles, and that you do not always recommend one provider (because of a habit or a commission rate), but instead, you can clearly share with the readers the actual results and let them make up their own opinion.

So, when we did our recent test of VPN providers with servers in Norway, we had no clue which would end up first (or last), so take a look at the results here and sign up for the VPN provider that you like. You can also see the full test from the VPN speed test in Norway right here.

The fastest VPN providers in Norway

It is important to know that we first did an initial speed test to show our download speeds, before using a VPN at all. This is important, because it will give you a feeling about how much latency is caused by the actual VPN provider. We can never guarantee that you will get the same results as us, but this is a test made live, and we have no second try or cutting in the video, meaning that you get to see the raw results, just like we did. It might be that some of the VPN providers had a lucky day, while others might have had a bad day – who knows… but at least this should give you a little feeling about which VPN providers might be smart to use if you need a Norwegian IP address, and which might be better avoiding.

Download speeds for the VPN servers in Norway

Here you can see the name of the different VPN providers and the download speeds we got using their VPN service.

As you can see from the table above, the fastest VPN provider in the test was StrongVPN. That doesn’t really come as a big surprise, because during our last test of the fastest VPN providers in France, StrongVPN was the winner as well. They are having a really strong server park, meaning that this is a good combination of quality and high speeds if you are interested. But, StrongVPN doesn’t have servers in that many nations, so make sure to find out if they have servers and IP addresses in the countries you are interested in before signing up!

If you click the button above you will be taken to the StrongVPN website. Notice that they do have a money-back guarantee, meaning that you can ask for a refund if you are not satisfied with your purchase. You can also use your StrongVPN subscription at lots of devices at the same time, meaning that you can easily share your subscription with friends and family members.

It is also worth mentioning that StrongVPN is one of the best VPN providers on the market if your goal is to stream content in different Netflix regions. They might not be the best VPN for Netflix, but it is still among the top five VPN providers for unblocking Netflix.

Following StrongVPN, we have ExpressVPN. That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone either, as ExpressVPN is known for their blazing speeds, and also for their great customer service and awesome ability to unblock streaming sites online. Not only can they help you get access to several Netflix regions, but you can also enjoy their 30-day money back policy (in case you regret buying a subscription).

ExpressVPN is a much bigger VPN provider than StrongVPN, meaning that you can enjoy a VPN provider with servers in more than 60 nations if you decide to subscribe to their services. It might also be nice to know that you get three months for free if you buy a 12-month subscription with ExpressVPN using the button above.

About the slowest VPN providers in the test

The three slowest VPN providers in the test are PureVPN, Surfshark and IPVanish. But, if you take a look at the download speeds we got using the mentioned VPN providers, they still gave us download speeds surpassing 30 Mbps. Most people would consider these to be great speeds as well, making you more than capable of streaming content on 3-4 different websites at the same time, while watching a video on YouTube and listening to your favorite music on Spotify. In other words, all the providers tested here performed fairly well, but still – if you can sign up for a VPN provider giving you download speeds of 200 Mbps, why sign up for one giving you only 30 Mbps?

Do all the providers work with all important streaming sites in Norway?

The download speeds might be important to you, but it is just as important to find out if the recommended VPN providers actually work with the services you are interested in. If you want to watch Norwegian Netflix abroad, which VPN provider should you choose? Can you pick any of these? Or if you want to watch NRK abroad, or maybe TV2 Sumo?

To be honest, getting access to Norwegian Netflix abroad is very hard, and it is constantly changing. In general, no VPN providers really work with Norwegian Netflix, but if there is anyone working, you can read more about VPNs working with Norwegian Netflix here.

But, if your goal is to watch NRK outside Norway, TV2 Sumo, Dplay, Viaplay, HBO Nordic or some other service, both StrongVPN and ExpressVPN can be used freely with no trouble in sight. Most of the other VPN providers should also work with these services, but I dare not promise you anything, as I recently got some errors using Surfshark VPN with TV2 Sumo (for example). But, considering how both StrongVPN and ExpressVPN have nice money back policies (and based on my recent tests they should work with all the important streaming sites), I would definitely recommend that you use one of these services in your quest for a Norwegian IP address.
